The Bearcat golf team won the Cardinal Shootout at Tanglewood Country Club on Monday February 21. The tournament was hosted by Pottsboro High School. A late morning cold front kept the golfers humble for most of the day. Whitesboro shot a 349 to edge 2nd place Sanger with a 355. Azle came in third with a 356.
Charlie Hayes placed 4th winning a scorecard playoff and shooting an 81. Cameron Clark shot an 84, Hank Bennett and Zach James shot a 92 while Luke Bond shot a 95. Ryan Harbin shot a 98 as an individual medalist.
Coach Reed: "I was pleased with the way we started this spring golf season. The boys competed and have already established goals for this season. They must continue to practice and improve daily to make a run at the district championship and regional tournament."
